Maternity: Emily in waiting
LANCASTER FAMILY & MOTHERHOOD PHOTOGRAPHER
During 2022, I decided that I really wanted to capture the early stages of motherhood and add some maternity images to my portfolio. I put out a model call in later February via my Instagram account and thankfully a previous client - the lovely Rebecca - passed the info on (Lancaster’s a small place so it’s very much word of mouth) and the beautiful Emily responded to my call.
I knew I wanted to really work on the styling for the session and had put together three concepts for Emily to choose from: fields of gold, water and botanical. Emily lives in Morecambe, close to the beach and during our pre-shoot phone call she told me about her love of swimming in the Bay and her wish to try the ‘water’ concept. I decided to try for a golden hour session at Half Moon Bay in Heysham and sent Emily some outfit choices to choose from. She chose a beautiful Jenny Yoo maternity dress which worked perfectly for the shoot creating lots of lovely movement, glistening in the golden sunshine.
